Wascomat vended dryers installed in an Australian laundromat

The range

Four models. Stacked twins and single-pocket finishers.

The core Australian vended lineup runs from two stacked twin-pocket workhorses (D7-300S and D7-425S) up to the 550 L and 675 L single-pocket finishers (D7-550 and D7-675). Every model shares the same intelligent control platform, axial airflow and reversing drum.

Technology

Engineered where it affects your margin.

Wascomat dryers are designed to work as a system with Wascomat washers. The higher the washer's extraction G-Force, the less water leaves the machine in the linen - and the less time and energy the dryer has to spend evaporating it.

Axial airflow

Air travels the full length of the drum in line with the linen, passing through the load rather than around it. That gives the highest evaporation per kWh and the shortest cycle for a given heat input - the single biggest driver of dryer running cost.

Reversing drum

The drum reverses direction on a programmed cycle to stop linen tangling and rolling into a ball. Air reaches the whole load, drying stays even, creasing is reduced and unloading and folding are faster.

Moisture sensing

Intelligent sensors measure residual moisture and stop heating the moment the linen is dry. Ecopower on the coin version avoids over-drying, which wastes energy and shortens linen life.

King-size lifter

Large lifters carry the linen up and drop it through the airflow, opening the load to the air stream instead of letting it settle. Combined with axial flow this is what delivers the short rated cycle times.

Robust construction

Galvanised or stainless steel panels, a heavy door switch and gasket for an impeccable seal, support rollers for drum stability, and a large ergonomic door for loading and unloading - built for continuous vended duty.

Front USB service

A USB port on the front panel handles fast service diagnostics and program updates, so a technician can read the machine and reload programs without pulling it off the wall.

Control & programming

A control that sells, not just starts.

The intelligent control is the commercial heart of the dryer. Multiple programmable cycles cover day-one trading; beyond that you can tune drying time and temperature to your local market, and price them independently by time of day.

For an Australian operator that means a drying menu tuned to your suburb - quick cycles for peak-hour throughput, longer cycles for doonas and bulk linen - with upgrade prompts that raise revenue per turn without adding a machine.

  • ✓Intelligent control with large display and intuitive cycle selection
  • ✓USB connection on the front for fast service and program updates
  • ✓Ecopower coin operation stops heating the moment linen is dry
  • ✓Multiple programmable cycles to match your local market and pricing
  • ✓Time-of-day and promotional pricing on vended models
  • ✓Real-time clock for happy-hour and off-peak programs
  • ✓Service and audit data downloadable via the front USB port
  • ✓Door opens immediately at end of cycle - no dwell time, faster turnover

Evaporation economics

Best evaporation, lowest energy.

Shorter cycles

Axial airflow and a king-size lifter pass air through the full load, so the rated cycle is short and two full loads run per hour at peak.

Lower energy per kilo

Moisture sensing and Ecopower stop heating the moment linen is dry - the largest controllable energy cost in a laundromat, cut on every cycle.

More turns per day

Faster cycle-to-cycle time and no over-dry dwell lifts the number of paid turns each pocket can deliver through a busy Saturday.

Installation

What the site has to give the machine.

1. Heat source

Confirm gas, electric or steam before ordering. Gas dryers need a correctly sized gas supply and an exterior flue; electric dryers need a suitably rated circuit; steam dryers need a boiler and insulated run.

2. Exhaust and make-up air

Every pocket vents Ø200 mm to outside. Size the duct for simultaneous discharge of every machine on the row, and provide a make-up air path so the dryers do not starve the store of conditioned air.

3. Exterior wall penetration

Plan duct runs and wall penetrations early. Long or convoluted duct runs cost airflow and cycle time - keep the path short and direct.

4. Electrical

Protect each machine with a properly rated common-trip circuit breaker. Gas models still need power for the motor, fan and control; electric models need a high-current supply sized to the kW rating.

5. Clearances and stacking

Allow service clearance behind and beside the row. Stacked twin-pocket machines are tall (up to 2085 mm) - check ceiling height and door access before ordering.

6. Commissioning

Installation and servicing must be carried out by qualified, licensed personnel per the installation manual and local codes. Warranty is void if the machine is not properly installed.

Refer installation and servicing to qualified, licensed personnel. Always read the installation and operating manuals and consult local codes before installation. Protect machines with properly rated, common-trip circuit breakers only. Warranty is void if the machine is not properly installed.

Options & upgrades

Specify it once, correctly.

Heat source

Every D7 model is offered in gas, electric or steam heat. Gas is the default for Australian vended stores - lowest cost per kilo evaporated. Electric suits sites without gas, steam suits sites with an existing boiler.

Stacked vs single pocket

D7-300S and D7-425S are factory-built stacked twin-pocket dryers - double the capacity on one footprint. D7-550 and D7-675 are single pockets for doonas, comforters and bulk linen that should not be split.

Panel finish

Galvanised or stainless steel panels - protected against rust and corrosion. Stainless is worth specifying on the front row of a premium fit-out.

Ecopower coin operation

The vended coin version's Ecopower function senses residual moisture and stops heating the moment the load is dry - cutting energy per cycle and protecting linen from over-drying.

Programmable cycle mix

Multiple programmable cycles let you tune drying time and temperature to your local market, with time-of-day and promotional pricing on the intelligent control.

Payment & connectivity

Pair the dryer with the same payment platform as the washers - Tangerpay, Bubblepay, Nayax or AirWallet - for card, app and cashless vend plus per-machine revenue and utilisation reporting and remote monitoring across the whole store.

Payment & connectivity

The same platform the washers run on.

D7 dryers are payment-agnostic and share the same platform as the washers, so one system runs the whole store. The core Australian payment systems we support are Tangerpay, Bubblepay, Nayax and AirWallet, covering tap-to-pay, in-app and QR pay plus loyalty, with per-machine revenue and utilisation reporting, service alerts and remote monitoring for the dryer side too.

FAQ

Operator questions, answered.

Can Wascomat vended dryers be stacked?

Yes. The D7-300S and D7-425S are factory-built stacked twin-pocket dryers - two independently controlled drying pockets in one footprint - so you get double the drying capacity without giving up floor space.

What heat source should I choose?

Gas is the default for Australian vended stores - lowest running cost per kilo of water evaporated. Electric is available where gas is not practical, and steam suits sites with an existing boiler. Every D7 model is offered in gas, electric or steam.

Why does a reversing drum matter?

A reversing drum prevents linen from tangling and rolling into a ball, so air reaches the full load and drying stays even and fast. It also reduces creasing and cuts the labour of unloading and folding.

How do I match dryers to my washers?

Pair D7-300S stacks with 14–20 kg washers, D7-425S stacks with 20–28 kg washers, the D7-550 single with 20–28 kg washers, and the D7-675 single with 28–35 kg washers. A full washer load should move into one dryer pocket without being split.

Can I monitor and price dryers remotely?

Yes. Dryers run on the same payment platform as the washers - Tangerpay, Bubblepay, Nayax or AirWallet - so you get per-machine revenue and utilisation reporting, service alerts, diagnostics and remote pricing across the whole store.
